I had a root canal performed in this office. It failed. Although I was required to sign an Informed Consent form that was lengthier and more detailed than any consent form I have had to sign in any other dental office, which in and of itself raised an eyebrow while I initialed each lined item, I did not have time to shop around, as I was in extreme pain and needed a remedy asap. That said, unlike the other endodontist, Dr. Hallie Landy, who retreated the root canal performed by Dr. Porras, she performed a CBCT scan PRIOR to treatment. A CBCT scan is a 3D scan that allows for a better image of the tooth than a conventional x-ray that only allows for a one-dimension view like a photograph; thus, a CBCT scan allows an endodontist to better assess the situation of the tooth at issue. Dr. Porras’s office explained in an email that, “a CBCT was not taken as part of the treatment unless specifically indicated and discussed at the time of care. Standard diagnostic imaging and clinical evaluation were used in accordance with the treatment provided. I have been to many dentists over the years, and Dr. Edgar Porras is truly exceptional. He recently performed a root canal for me and saved my tooth something I’m incredibly grateful for. He explained every step clearly, made sure I was comfortable, and handled the procedure with great skill. The office is welcoming and clean, and the staff are kind and supportive. I felt truly cared for throughout the process. I highly recommend Dr. Edgar Porras for anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate dentist who really knows how to take care of your teeth.

I just left and they were awesome. I felt a bit apprehensive before as I have to do a root canal, but the oral surgeon and dental hygienist were so kind and helpful. They soothed my anxiety and made me feel like things are going to be okay.
